A Unique Porting Code, or UPC, is a code that is given to you indicating that the Mobile Number Portability process has begun. This is an important code and you should take note of it. The unique porting code is valid for 15 days, after which you will need to apply for another one. You can port your mobile phone number as many times as you like using Mobile Number Portability. However, as per the TRAI regulations, there has to be a 90 day period after a Mobile Number Portability process before another Mobile Number Portability request can be made.
No. Once you have used Mobile Number Portability and your mobile phone number has been ported to a new mobile phone provider, all of your existing benefits with your old provider will cease.
